Irish Murphy`s pub opened in Geelong in 1996
and quickly established itself as an atmospheric place to eat, have a dark
creamy pint and hear the session music. Sessions occur there each week,
attracting musicians from all walks of life, their traditional playing
pleasing local patrons and visiting thirsty travellars alike. The
Session creates an opportunity for young, new and old musicians all, to
interact, impart experience and innovation of the music, swap and learn
new tunes or songs and in particular improve playing skills.

Whether one is listening or participating,
Sessions can be positive and uplifting experience infinite in fabric and
variety. Irish Traditional music would never have survived or developed
into what it is today without the Session. This recording is dedicated
to the spirit of the Irish Music Session and to all those who perpetuate
it.
